PNB arm IFC tie up to raise $800 million for affordable housing
Ahead of the official release of the second-quarter GDP figures, State Bank of India (SBI) estimated the country’s economy to expand by 7.5-7.6 percent, slower than the prior quarter, mainly on account of a slowdown in rural demand.
India’s largest lender also said in its Ecowrap report that the SBI Composite Leading Indicator (CLI), a basket of 21 leading indicators for the quarter in consideration, is showing a marginal declining trend.
India GDP to slow down marginally, but remain strong at 7.5% in 2019 & 2020: OECD
The Organization for Economic Cooperation & Development (OECD) released its Economic Outlook 2018 report and said growth in India will hold up relatively well, and predicted GDP at market prices to decline marginally to 7.3% in 2019 and 7.4% in 2020 from 7.5% in 2018.

Indian economy will expand 7.4 percent in 2018, but the growth will slow down to 7.3 percent in the next fiscal.
The economy grew 7.9 percent in the first half (January-June) of 2018, reflecting post demonetization base effect.
India pledged contribution of $13.36 mn for UN agencies, development activities
1st Secretary in India’s Permanent Mission to the UN, Mahesh Kumar, on behalf of India pledged contributions of USD 13.36 million for the various UN agencies and development activities.
This pledge was taken during the 2018 United Nations Pledging Conference for Development Activities at the UN Headquarters in New York, USA.
India topped as Asia most investment savvy economy: Standard Chartered
According to a new Standard Chartered study-‘The Emerging Affluent Study 2018– Climbing the Prosperity Ladder’, India is Asia’s most investment savvy economy.
The survey markets were: China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea, the UAE.
