Emmerson Mnangagwa re-elected as Zimbabwe president
- Incumbent Emmerson Mnangagwa has been re-elected as Zimbabwe’s president. 75-year-old Mnangagwa, of the ruling ZANU-PF party, won 50.8 percent against Nelson Chamisa, of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Alliance.
Imran Khan becomes the 22nd PM of Pakistan
- Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan took oath as Pakistan’s new prime minister.
- Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), secured 176 votes while his only rival and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Sharif got 96 votes, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser announced.

- Treasurer Scott Morrison has been elected the new Prime Minister of Australia after winning an internal vote of 45-40 against former Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton.

- Mehreen Faruqi a pakistani origin women has become the first muslim senator to be sworn in to Australia’s Parliament. Faruqi replaces veteran senator Lee Rhiannon in the upper house.

- Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita has been re-elected for a five-year term after winning a landslide in a runoff ballot.
World’s smallest medical robot sets Guinness record
- America Scientists have made a new Guinness World Record by developing the world’s smallest medical robot.
- The robot is only 120 nanometres in size. It would help in cancer and Alzheimer’s treatments in the future.

- The Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), Bengaluru has been ranked as the second fastest growing among top 20 major airports in the world during the first half of 2018..
