Monsoon Session of Parliament
The Monsoon Session of Parliament will be held from July.
It will span over 24 days & will have 18 sittings.
It was formally announced by Cabinet Committee of Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
The CCPA recommendation now sets in summoning motion process of President Ram Nath Kovind for formally convening the session.
15th India-Australia joint ministerial commission
The 15th India-Australia Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) was held in Canberra, Australia.
The meeting was jointly chaired by Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu and Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Steven Ciobo.
3rd annual meeting of AIIB
The 3rd annual meeting of the Beijing based Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) began in Mumbai.
This first time India is hosting the event.
The meeting with the theme ‘Mobilizing Finance for Infrastructure’ was inaugurated by PM Modi.
19th all India Conference of Directors
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Hansraj Gangaram Ahir will inaugurate the 19th all India Conference of Directors of Finger Prints Bureaux in Hyderabad.
During the two-day conference, participants will deliberate on latest Automatic Fingerprint Identification Systems (AFIS).
India-Greece business forum meeting
On the occasion of the official visit of the President of the Republic of India to Athens, a Business Forum the ‘Greece-India Business Forum’ was organized in Athens.
7th OPEC International seminar
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) will host the 7th OPEC International Seminar at the Imperial Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria.
The theme of the Seminar is ‘Petroleum – cooperation for a sustainable future’.
Fourth Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog Concludes
The fourth meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog was held under the chairmanship of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
It was attended by 23 Chief Ministers and the Lieutenant Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, apart from Union Ministers, who are ex-officio members and special invitees.
Maharashtra CM meets World Bank CEO Kristalina Georgieva
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met World Bank CEO Kristalina Georgieva in Washington DC to seek assistance for a Multimodal Transport Corridor and the Rural Livelihood Project which aims to provide sustainable livelihood enhancements in 10,000 villages in the state.
NSG plenary meeting held in Jurmala, Latvia
The Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) plenary meeting took place on in Jurmala, Latvia after Latvia assumed chairmanship of NSG for 2018-19.
With this, Latvia became first Baltic state to chair the NSG.

The historic delegation-level talks between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is underway in Singapore.
Before they met for delegation-level talks, the two leaders held a brief one-on-one meeting at the Capella Hotel in Sentosa Island.
G7 summit 2018 held in Canada
The 44th G7 summit was held on June 2018, in La Malbaie, Quebec, Canada.
This was the sixth time since 1981 that Canada has hosted the meetings.
The summit received significant attention due to a significant decline of relations of members with the United States.
Due to this, the summit was dubbed the “G6+1″ by France and some members of the media.
49th Conference of Governors Concludes in New Delhi
The two-day 49th Conference of Governors concluded in New Delhi.
The President exhorted Governors to take the lead in adopting modern technology and methods.
The Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Minister for Home Affairs also addressed the concluding session of the Conference.

NABARD releases book on Indian Crops
Shri Nitin Gadkari released a book ‘Water productivity mapping of major Indian crops’ published by NABARD.
The book is based on a study of 10 important crops.
Youngest Author of India
Four year old Ayan Gogoi Gohain of North Lakhimpur district, Assam was honoured with the ‘Youngest Author of India’ title by the Indian Book of Records.
Ayan Gogoi Gohain has been honoured with this title for his book ‘honeycomb’.
The book was published in January 2018.
Vice President releases book ‘Straight Talk’
The Vice President, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has released the book ‘Straight Talk’ authored by the Member of Rajya Sabha, Shri Abhishek Manu Singh.
The former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Government has set up an executive committee under the chairpersonship of Narendra Modi to “spread Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy” among the people at national & international level.
Committee comprises of cabinet ministers, renowned Gandhians, social activists & public figures.
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will attend the closing ceremony of the 125th birth anniversary of Professor P. C. Mahalanobis on Statistics Day on 29th June.
The theme of 2018 is – Quality Assurance in Official Statistics.
The General Assembly of United Nations has decided to observe 26 June as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse.
