The concept of Directive Principles of State Policy (DPSP) in India Constitution is adopted from that of Ireland and Spain. The DPSP are guidelines/principles given to the Central and State Governments of India, to be kept in mind while framing laws and policies. These provisions arecontained in Part IV of the Constitution. They aree not enforceable by any court, but are considered fundamental in the governance. It is the duty of the state to apply these principles in making laws to establish a just society in the country.
