Dr. Sachchidanand Sinha was elected temporary President of the assembly, in accordance with French practice. Later on 11th December 1946, Dr. Rajendra Prasad was elected as the President and its Vice-President was H.C. Mukherjee. Jurist Benegal Narsing Rao was appointed constitutional advisor to the Assembly.
