The average marks in Science subject of a class of students is 68. If the marks of two students were 48 and 65 of the actual marks 72 and 61 respectively, then what would be the correct average?
[NABARD, 2009]
Explanation
According to the question
Sum of added quantities - Sum of removed quantities= ±Nx
⇒ (72+61)-(48+65)= ± 20×x
⇒ 133-113= 20×x
⇒ x==1
∴ The actual average = 68+1 =69
Hence, Option B is correct.
