    In Amorphophallus, vegetative reproduction occurs through corm. Amorphophyllus has adventitious roots with the capacity to contract. These roots are called as contractile roots. As they contract, the corm is puffed down. Thus the level of the corm is maintained. The buds present on corm give rise to new aerial shoots.
